When I know I have a small maintenance window, I have to make the best use of my time. In this case, where I have to upgrade all the switches in the company (16 total), troubleshoot ASAs in HA mode where one is froze up, troubleshoot the IPS modules in each ASA (one in a 'down' state and one not on at all), and physically replace one switch for an RMA. I have a two hour window to get all this done.
So I have to prepare as much as I can ahead of time. While I collect my thoughts on what to do for troubleshooting, there isnt much I can do ahead of time since I have no idea what is really going on. Since its a 24/7 operation, I cant really do much during non-maintenance times. So, I thought I would write out what I have to do for the upgrades. That should get this part done quicker. Below is my template to upgrade both the routing and switching image, along with the boot and poe image (on the switches that have poe). This should help me on time. As for the rest, Ill have to pray for success.

***ADDED THIS NOTE AFTER THE NIGHT I DID THIS***
Well, I didn't get to everything on the list. I got all of the TurboIron switches upgraded, and then ran into a problem on the first FCX switch when upgrading the POE firmware. Since I had to take the time to troubleshoot this issue, I didn't get to upgrade the rest of the switches. I did, while passing by them in the server room, reset the power on the primary ASA that was froze up, which did come back up successfully. I didn't get to the IPS modules.
