Brocade Switch: Uptimes Are Good

Cisco has a reputation for having good uptimes on their equipment.  I have seen up to eight years before on Cisco switching gear.  Well, I think its too early to say on the Brocade gear, but I think its looking good so far, from what I see.  Below is an example of a customer I went to the other day for an FCX switch.  The second switch was one I added later on.

  1. Wow...that is some great uptimes! Reminds me of the old days when I was a Novell NetWare admin...those NetWare servers would easily run for a couple of years without any downtime, and that includes applying patches. Back then, Microsoft NT was just getting started and had to be rebooted weekly (or more often) just to clear out memory leaks and remain stable. Those were the days...

  2. I don't want to start a 1up competition, but I decommissioned this switch about 1yr ago...

Oops I cannot paste a pic, but it was up for 2484 days 14 hours, 5 mins 20 secs

But to be fair it was a chassis and not a typical stack-able switch
