17+1 with this Ruger SR9e. Below was my first round at about 10 yards out.

Interesting Night Tonight
Picture this. It's 1:15 am. My power to my house is acting funny, like its sagging. Lights are very dim. So I'm standing out in the back in the woods at this point with a guy from Alabama Power. We find that the power pole is smoking/burning, but not on fire, yet. The guy flips the power pole breaker, so now we and my neighbor are out of power for a few hours. Interesting night.

There Are Worse Things Than Getting Fired
This article (here) was a good one. When I was younger, I did get fired from a job. I remember thinking that that was a terrible thing. It turned out to be the best thing for me. If you ever get fired, just remember that no one stays unemployed forever.

A Quiet, Peaceful Sound
I spent all day yesterday at one of the Atlanta data centers, doing some Nexus and Check Point work with another engineer. Lots of loud server noise, along with the road noise to and from Birmingham. Not to mention the Atlanta city sounds. It's was just a busy, noisy day.
As I pulled up into my driveway and got out of my truck, back in Birmingham, I couldn't help but notice the stillness of the night. The only sound I heard, all around me, was the soft, low, steady hum of crickets. Not to mention the smell of the new growth of plants and trees. It was very peaceful. So much so, as I walked inside, I continued straight back to the back door to the back yard to continue to enjoy that sound and the smells of summer. It was quiet a moment.
