Samsung Range Error Code C-31

I have this Samsung induction range that has recently had a problem.  The oven on it quit working after one night of high heat cooking.  We had the oven up to 450 degrees, and right close to the end of cooking the meal, it just died.  On the display, an error code of C-31 appears.
Well, after many calls to Samsung and a few service companies, no one can (or will) tell me what that C-31 means.  Its been frustrating, to say the least.  My wife found in a forum that the code C-31 means that the main circuit board needs to be replaced.  To be specific, the part number for this board is DE92-03960B.

By the way, below is my range.

The part that needs to be changed out is in the back of the range.  You take the back panel off, and the main board is the only thing back there.  Take a picture of all the connections to it, and then replace it.  The service center wanted $300 to come out and replace it, not including the price of the part.  It cost me $113 online.  I used samsungparts.com, which was terrible.  I wouldn't recommend them, but they were the cheapest.  I replaced the part and now the oven works again.

  2. Thank you. I got a gas one and did have the same error message yesterday. Oh, just out of warranty also. I guess I have to open it up and find the part number then.

  3. Anyone getting this error code should contact the US Consumer Product Safety Commission. There has been class action lawsuits about these type of issue in the past for self cleaning features. https://www.cpsc.gov/About-CPSC/Contact-Information/

  4. Seems to be a common problem. Mine just went after a self clean and 1 1/2 years with no warranty. Very disappointed in this very expensive oven. Ordered part and will replace myself.

  5. Add to my Dec 16 message that a simple warning of this and I could pull the oven from the wall during self clean so that there is a gap between the overlapping glass top and the counter top. Samsung should warn all purchasers and cover those that have failed thus far!

  6. Replacing the board also fixed it for me, thank you!

When I pulled the board, I noticed that the lower-left connector plastic had been completely burnt away. Seems like very poor design on the part of Samsung.

  7. Just ran my second self clean and received this C-31 error code! I've only had the oven for under a year so thank goodness its under warranty but .......... what happens if this continues to be a problem?? Does samsung replace free of charge since it is their design issue??? Very disappointed in Samsung and will definitely let others know about this.
